In cattle trucks they stole us from our homes in Tarnopol
To Siberia we'd go
My uncle worked until he was a wick out in the cold
They weren't human no more

In '41 I fled to join the army of our own
With only the clothes that I had on
I arrived near river Volga, there were people just like me
With their sons and daughters
From the port of Krasnovodsk we all boarded for Iran
And on the sands, I cried
Mother, I will fight on for the place that is our home
For our freedom and yours

In Iraq and Palestine, we were trained out in the sun
And then we headed to Cairo
We joined the Eighth Army for the British wanted Rome
And we wanted our home
Oh, please send me to Taranto with our mermaid
Send me where you want

In the mires
