Every year, Selvacava holds Sagra Laina E Ceci, a festival in which people from the town and nearby come together to eat and drink the local food and wine of the region. A band plays all kinds of music and everyone dances throughout the night, it's lovely.

Years ago during one of the festas - I must have been about ten-ish, maybe younger - a Latin pop tune came on which I instantly fell in love with. At the time there was no Shazam or anything like that so I could only stand there and listen to it. I never got to know the name of the song.

Yearsss went by, yearssssssss and I could still never find this song. Anyway one night when I was up in Liverpool working in some pub, I was doing a bit of waitering, carrying some drinks over and all of a sudden I heard the song being played through the sound system.
I knew the manager put a playlist on every night so immediately I put the drinks down and bolted downstairs to the office to find out what the song was because there was no way I was going through another ten years not knowing what this bloody song was. I caught him just in time and he told me.

Next week I was fired. But it was fucking worth it!!

The 2nd side of this album kind of takes you through a night of the festa and in 'Helpless' I wanted to create a Latin sound similar to the one I heard as a kid.
